Early Photos of Ray & Sally

Scanned photo of Sally in June of 1967...we met in November of '67 and were married in April of 1968.  This was taken at her parent's home in St. Joseph, MO.

This photo is undated but I am guessing it might have been 1964 or 1965ish.  Sally with Nana (Lucy) and Buddy (Tom).  Sally's maiden name was Hunter.  The Hunter name is following our family:  Our oldest is Robert Hunter and Ryan's boy is Thomas Hunter. 

Bob and Linda (Linda is Sally's older sister) and Sally and I.  Not sure when this was taken, maybe Christmas of '67, but we sure were dressed nicely.  Linda was very pregnant at our wedding in April of '68 and doesn't appear to be in this photo.

Tom, Bob and Ray at Tom & Lucy's home.  Probably Christmas of '67, we would lounge around in the mornings in our PJ's.

Taken on my 25th birthday...I was teaching at Northwest Missouri State College in Maryville.  Tom & Lucy's good friends and neighbors from across the street are to Tom's right, Frank & Maggie Bashinksi.  It was Maggie's 50th birthday, we would laugh that she was twice as old as I was...but only for that day!  On my right is Susan, their only child, and is very smart earning her Ph.D. and is a college professor.  We put flowers on Frank & Maggies grave as well as Tom's when we were in St. Joe last week.

The photo says June of '68 and I'm wearing my class ring and not my wedding ring so I'm thinking it was taken before we were married, but it is in the early '68 time frame.  Taken at Sally's home and in the chair that Nana "proposed" to me.  Schnapp's is on my lap and was the last of a long line of Dachshund family pets.  I had not started wearing glasses yet as I was too vain, but I had glasses but was not wearing them full-time.  I went from glasses to contacts to lazik over time but now have to wear reading glasses.

Sally, Tom & Alice (our Maid of Honor).  Sally & Alice have been friends since before Kindergarten.  We have a photo of the two of them on their first day of school.  Alice & Sally still see one another at least once a year and Alice and her husband stayed with us this past spring.

Old faded photo taken probably in the early spring of 1969.  We were living in a rented house on Whitewater Lake in Whitewater, Wisconsin where I was teaching marketing and management courses at what was then Wisconsin State University-Whitewater, now University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.  The carp were biting and this is one I caught.  They were much fun to catch as I recall.  I was wearing glasses pretty much full time in those days...I thought it made me look older and more scholarly.

Moustaches were stylish in those days and I had one for years as did many of the people I worked with.

No clue at all when this was taken...probably in the mid-'80's.  This has to be Linda's house.

Sally with one of Tom's cousins who was in her mid-90's at the time.  Not sure of the date but most likely in the late '80's but prior to our moving to New Hampshire in the Fall of 1989.
